KK – Loy Krathong 2024 (15-11-2024)

On the 15th November 2024, the event day of Loy Krathong at KKIS, the students enjoyed various activities of creating Krathongs, playing traditional games, eating traditional snacks and watching traditional dance performances.

It started with each student arrived in their individual traditional costumes in the spirit of enjoying the activities in unity. The students then got started with working together on creating their own Krathongs (baskets). This year at KK, in consideration of the environment, reducing pollution and waste, the Krathongs that are made to float are to be made by freezing water up to create Ice Krathongs.

Separated into two teams, one team worked on gathering flowers and the other team worked on preparing the collected flowers & leaves for designing their Krathongs. Once the preparations were ready, the students filled cups with water, the prepared flowers & leaves and then froze the cups to create their own ice Krathongs. Upon completion, all the students gathered up to enjoy a traditional dance by the invited guest performer before joining in all together for a traditional dance at the end.

Next on the list of activities, the preschool students grilled slices of bananas for all the students to enjoy as snacks during the event. While the preschool students were occupied with making grilled bananas, the primary students participated in traditional games such as Banana Horse Game, Ree Ree Khao San & Mon San Pha. During the afternoon, before heading back home, the students got to float their Ice Krathongs that they have created in the morning in the garden.
