Brief History
The first KKIS building was located in ‘Kasalong Villa’ (Moo 9, Mae Pa in Mae Sot). KK stands for “Kasalong Kids”. Kasalong is the name of a tree (Indian Cork Tree) prevalent in the villa, which has a very distinctive, corky bark and beautiful small white flowers.
In 2015, KK English Club opened and started teaching English Courses and English Camps on weekends and school holidays. By 2017, plans were developed to build a private preschool, and KK International Preschool opened May 2018. In May 2019, a second, larger building was officially opened to accommodate all preschool classes with dedicated space for all classes, and a fully equipped kitchen, canteen, hall and main reception.
KKIS Primary School began in May 2022, and by September 2022, a consultant was employed to develop our curriculum to meet international standards. In November 2023, further consultancies assisted us to design and develop a new school building in a new location to have the first International School in Mae Sot with international standards. Both the preschool and primary school were relocated to the new site in 2025, as part of our KKIS Business Plan 2025-2035. Over the years, KKIS has grown, incorporating modern educational practices while staying true to its British educational roots.
